A pipeline partner admits LNG export is possible

FERC had been saying no LNG export, yet the pipeline partners said a year ago 300x388 Introduction and map, in Mountain Valley Pipeline Non-binding Open Season, by EQT Midstream Partners, LLP and NextEra Energy, for SpectraBusters.org, 12 June 2014 in their Open Season: “as well as deliveries to Cove Point LNG”. NextEra, co-owner of Sabal Trail Transmission, is one of the Mountain Valley Pipeline partners. Sabal Trail and FERC have told us Sabal Trail is not for LNG export, yet they never told us about an already-approved LNG export license right where the Sabal Trail pipeline chain goes in Florida.

Duncan Adams, Roanoke Times, 25 June 2015, Mountain Valley Pipeline partner says operation could be used for exports,

A partner in the controversial Mountain Valley Pipeline confirmed this week that natural gas transported by the pipeline could be one supply source for liquefied natural gas bound for India.

The news comes after Paul Friedman, a project manager for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, repeatedly — and publicly — dismissed concerns last month from pipeline opponents that natural gas transported through the pipeline would be exported.

Call your Senators against TPP today

Turn one vote and actual approval of TPP will fail, because the pro-LNG-export pro-fracking pro-pipeline Trans-Pacific Partnership got Fast Track Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) in the U.S. Senate yesterday “by the narrowest margin in the legislative mechanism’s history, 60-37. The procedural measure required 60 votes to pass.” So it’s time to call Florida Senator Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio (who apparently didn’t even read it), Georgia Senator David Perdue who claimed he wanted transparency and Johnny Isakson who should represent the people of Georgia, and all the other Senators who voted for that corporate power grab.

The most likely votes to turn are the Democrats who voted for. Wenonah Hauter, Food & Water Watch, 23 June 2015, Blog Posts: Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP),

The 13 corporate trade backers included: Senators… Bill Nelson (D-Florida)….

Oregon citizen bursts pipeline company talking points

An Oregonian thoroughly explodes the standard pipeline script:

“I guess we could stand having a 232-mile IED in our backyard if it is really benefits the public. But who, exactly, is the public here?”

His Canadian pipeline moguls are actually both from Houston, Texas: Williams Company with its Washington Expansion Project (WEP) getting its fracked methane from Spectra Energy’s Westcoast Pipeline. Oh, this is another Williams pipeline: Pacific Connector, going to the same Jordan Cover LNG export terminal as WEP. The same Williams Company of Transco’s Hillabee Expansion Project to feed Spectra Energy’s Sabal Trail pipeline. The same Sabal Trail that’s suing a Georgia Centennial Family Farm tomorrow in Moultrie, Georgia. All the pipeline companies seem to follow the same script, including Kinder Morgan for its Palmetto Pipeline. And this Oregonian answered for all of us facing pipeline invaders.

Diarmuid McGuire, Ashland Daily Tidings, 22 January 2015, Guest Opinion: We’re Oregonians, but we’re not stupid, Continue reading Oregon citizen bursts pipeline company talking points

Help Brownsville, Texas fend off five LNG projects

Houston is also invading Texas with LNG export projects and their pipelines, five of them at the mouth of the Rio Grande next to spring break resort South Padre Island. Help stop those, and help stop all LNG export boondoggles everywhere.

John Young, 16 May 2015, comment on Texas,

5 LNG export operations are targeting the Port of Brownsville, next door to South Padre Island. 2 have recently had Open Houses here (Annova LNG & Texas LNG) and a third, Rio Grande LNG (www.riograndelng.com), has three Open Houses planned this coming week (Kingsville Tue 05-19; Raymondville Wed 05-20; & Brownsville Thur 05-21-2015): http://www.valleymorningstar.com/news/local_news/article_397be0b6-faaf-11e4-bfe2-c75ef8558c93.html.

U.S. Senate hearing on LNG export, pipelines, solar, smart grid tomorrow 2015-05-14

Many energy infrastructure bills to be considered tomorrow, some apparently bad: S. 411 — Natural Gas Gathering Act “To authorize the approval of natural gas pipelines and establish deadlines and expedite permits for certain natural gas gathering lines on Federal land and Indian land.” That one proposed by the same Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso who complained about conflicts of interest for former FERC Chair Jon Wellinghoff until he resigned; the same Senator who didn’t like that new FERC Chair Norman Bay mentioned sun first among New Mexico’s abundant energy resources. Sourcewatch says “John Barrasso has voted in favor of big oil companies on 100% of important oil related bills, according to Oil Change International.”

Some bills to be considered tomorrow are apparently good: S. 1237 – To amend the Natural Gas Act to limit the authority of Continue reading U.S. Senate hearing on LNG export, pipelines, solar, smart grid tomorrow 2015-05-14

TPP fast track loses Senate vote

Pipeline-pushing members of Congress explicitly promote the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) as a way to authorize more fracked methane export, which would promote more pipelines. Sabal Trail may say its gas isn’t for export, but those three already-authorized LNG export operations right where it goes in Florida suggest otherwise. Fortunately, TPP just lost a U.S. Senate vote for fast track, so now at least it can’t be pushed through without proper debate. If it’s so good for us, let’s see TPP declassified and the full text released to the public now.

Massive opposition to KMI Palmetto Pipeline in Waynesboro + Sabal Trail

Most of the 400 people at the final Georgia Department of Transportation hearing vehemently opposed Kinder Morgan’s Palmetto petroleum products Pipeline. There’s still time to ask GDOT to deny the Palmetto permit. Now is the time also to ask GDOT to deny any permits for the Sabal Trail fracked methane pipeline, and for Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle to oppose Sabal Trail like they just said they oppose the Palmetto Project.

That’s SpectraBusters ally Gretchen Elsner of the Georgia Climate Coalition on the Friday front page of the Savannah Morning News, Clapping in the blue shirt is Continue reading Massive opposition to KMI Palmetto Pipeline in Waynesboro + Sabal Trail

GA Gov. says state opposes KMI’s Palmetto Pipeline

Congratulations to Push Back the Pipeline for this victory!

Party in Waynesboro tonight! Georgia Governor Nathan Deal today said the state and GDOT oppose Kinder Morgan’s Palmetto Project, and will take it to the courts if necessary. Come to the GDOT Hearing in Waynesboro anyway, as a victory party. And if Georgia objects to KMI’s Palmetto pipeline, Georgia should object to Spectra’s Sabal Trail pipeline.

WRDW, 7 May 2015, Georgia’s Governor says the state is against pipeline project,

“We’re going to object from the state level and I think that process will then go to the courts for a judge to decide,” Gov. Deal said.

“We’ve been in consultation with Continue reading GA Gov. says state opposes KMI’s Palmetto Pipeline

Kinder Morgan FERC filing to ship fracked methane to Jacksonville

The pipeline companies are in cahoots to export through all our lands. 300x194 Exhibit F: Compressors and loops; Suwannee, Columbia, and Bradford Counties, Florida, in Jacksonville Expansion Project, by FGT, for SpectraBusters.org, 31 March 2015 Beware especially Suwannee, Columbia, Bradford, and Clay Counties, Florida. Beware Atlantic coastal Georgia, the same Kinder Morgan (KMI) of the Palmetto petroleum products Project to Jacksonville wants to push fracked methane to Jacksonville, apparently for export. Beware Alabama, Georgia, and Florida on the proposed path of Sabal Trail: This new Florida project could ship Sabal Trail fracked methane to Jaxport for LNG export.

In March 2014 TECO Peoples Gas announced intention to ship fracked methane to Jacksonville, which the Jacksonville Business Journal interpreted as for export, since Continue reading Kinder Morgan FERC filing to ship fracked methane to Jacksonville
